Jo Bowen Jo has level 1, 2 and 3 with the British Horse Racing Education (BHE), UK CC.1 and B.H.S P.T.T in instructing. Jo is the yards manager and co-owner, with past experience in Management and Trainers 1 and 2 with a lifetimes worth of knowledge with horses, Jo ensures the yard and its residents are cared for to the very best and teaches Horsemastership on Pony Club meets. Jo also has experience in judging show classes so is always on hand for top tips and sneaky pointers on show days!
Sarah Keightley BHS 1,2 & 3, BHSAI – Sarah is the yards instructor with over 20 years teaching experience, and over 30 years experience with horses, meaning Sarah is one of the very best instructors around. She works part time at a nursery so is always brilliant with young children and will still have a good laugh with adult pupils! Sarah herself competed to BE Novice Eventing when she was younger and also has experience producing top young horses
Lorna is Jo’s daughter and has ridden before she could walk! She has B.H.E Level 1 and 2. The resident crash test dummy, (albeit she very rarely crashes!) she produces the youngsters to bring on into the School. Lorna also shows to the top level with her own pony Blazing Inferno, meaning she can give students brilliant insights into the competitive riding world when she teaches as a relief instructor. Lorna has ridden at the Three Counties Show and The Junior British Show Jumping Championships
Lou has been riding with Tewkesbury Riding School for several years. She is our part time groom and assists with running the yard and lesson assistant. She also assists with training new horses for the school. She competes in dressage classes and works full time for the R.D.A. She is very knowledgeable and has Level 1 and 2 in horse care. She is also very good at putting nervous riders at ease and works as a Team Leader at Pony Club summer camp.
Meg has been riding with Tewkesbury Riding School for several years. She is the instructors daughter and is very knowledgeable in horse care and an experienced rider, who show jumps her own pony. She is our part time groom, head of yard duties and lesson assistant. She also assists in training new ponies for the school. She has a sunny personality and is brilliant with customers and children and also works as a Team Leader on Pony Club summer camp.
Gem has been at this riding school all her life and knows it and the ponies inside out! A part-time yard groom and lesson assistant, Gem also helps Lorna bring on the young horses for the school and is always on hand for a smile when you need one! She also works as a Team Leader at Pony Club summer camp.
