Manager and BHSPTT Instructor
Jo Bowen Jo has level 1, 2 and 3 with the British Horse Racing Education (BHE), UK CC.1 and B.H.S P.T.T in instructing. Jo is the yards manager and co-owner, with past experience in Management and Trainers 1 and 2 with a lifetimes worth of knowledge with horses, Jo ensures the yard and its residents are cared for to the very best and teaches Horsemastership on Pony Club meets. Jo also has experience in judging show classes so is always on hand for top tips and sneaky pointers on show days!
Sam Goss
Freelance BHSI Instructor
Sam joined us in the summer of 2021. She is an accredited BHSI Instructor and pony club coach. She has a wealth and life time experience in teaching and knowledge of horses. Sam can teach from beginners to a very high level. She has reached elementary level in dressage judge training. At the age of 16 she trained in the disciplines of eventing to 3 star level, dressage to advanced level and show jumping at county level. From 16 to 18 years old she was on the British Junior European Eventing Squad. She attained BHSAI in 1985 and her BHSII in 1987, her stable management in 1992 and her BHSI in 2002. She also holds a certificate in practitioner in Neuro-Linguistics, also MSC in sports coaching, she has so much knowledge and teaching to give to our team and riders. She has trained with Carl Hester and Pat Burgess who trained Lucinda Green. She has worked for several riding clubs and pony clubs and is a pony club coach and assessor. She also furthered her education and Hartpury and Witney Colleges. We are so privileged to have this lady around. She is such a good teacher, who will put riders at ease and take them to the next level. Her 2 horses are called Silvie and Lollie. She also teaches on our pony club meets.
Nicki Warren
Freelance Instructor
Nicki joined Tewkesbury Riding School in December 2020 as a freelance instructor .She has been working in the industry for 12 years and gained experience in many principles , which includes dressage,eventing, racing and hunt horses . She has taught previously for the pony club and many clients to help them achieve their goals on their own horses.She has passed her horse care and management BHS stage 1 & 2, qualified in 2017 as a UK CC 2 riding instructor ,she furthered her teaching through the BS, In Applied Psychology for Equestrian Coaches Accredited training for BHS, so at the same level between BHSPTT to AI. She has 2 horses of her own Fly and Wendy , which she has competed in Medium level dressage , she has team chased & evented , her main interests are showjumping . She is a very confident & competent teacher with a knowledgeable background , which shines through , she has great energy and is enthusiastic about teaching , with a great way with people .
Laura Slatter
Relief Freelance Instructor
Laura joined Tewkesbury Riding School in December 2020 as a freelance instructor .She has been in the industry for 13 years and has NVQ level 1 & 2,and also holds the UK CC 2 in teaching (OFQUAL which is the same level as BHSPTT).She has Ridden since knee high and attended pony club, which she eventually taught in , she also took part in area team jumping as well as competing at Fox hunter level in show Jumping .Laura has enthusiastically been involved in breeding and producing young horses, she qualified for in 2017 as a riding instructor and has done a wide range of teaching , she is very good with young children ,as she has a young family herself.She is a competent and calming teacher with nervous riders and young children ,she also teaches on our pony club meets and pony days .
Jodie Vincent
Yard and Lesson Assistant
Jodie Vincent joined us in 2013. She has been one of our longest pony club members and has been awarded numerous certificates and reached platinum level on her riding tests and has achieved many pony club care badges. She is a yard and lesson assistant. She loves jumping Mischief and her dream goal would be to a professional show jumper.
Holly Rooke
Yard and Lesson Assistant
Holly is our Saturday and Wednesday Evening yard helper. She has been riding with us since 2015. Nothing is too much trouble for her, she is hard working, friendly and polite, she is also good with nervous riders. She has been a pony club member for many years and now has reached her platinum riding tests and completed her road riders test and has also achieved many stable management badges too. There is never a dull moment when Holly is around, she is still a student and great to have as part of our team.
